Oh, Mommy! Poem

Home » Blog » Oh, Mommy! Poem

I’m participating in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month), writing a poem a day for the month of April and posting it here on my blog to share. Go to NaPoWriMo.net for more details and to view many more participating poets. I did not follow prompts, but decided to share some laughs with the world. Each poem this month is silly, goofy, or fun just to bring you a smile and a little joy, which we can all use more of.

Oh, Mommy!

Oh, Mommy! You have lines around your eyes.
That’s because the first time I saw you I smiled so very wide!

Oh, Mommy! You have lines around your mouth.
That’s because since you were born, you bring me joy and make me laugh.

Oh, Mommy! You have grey hair on your head
That’s because you bring out the magic in me, my dear.

Oh, Mommy! You have fluff around your tummy.
That’s because I want to be sure my hugs are always cuddly.

Oh, Mommy! You look a little tired.
Because I’ll never completely rest in caring for you my child.
