Puzzle Poem

I’m participating in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month), writing a poem a day for the month of April and posting it here on my blog to share. Go to NaPoWriMo.net for more details and to view many more participating poets. I did not follow prompts, but decided to share some laughs with the world. Each poem this month is silly, goofy, or fun just to bring you a smile and a little joy, which we can all use more of.

Often words spill out of me quickly and then it takes much longer to figure out where and how to piece them together to make them flow into poetry. Thus the following poem was born:

Puzzle

Words on the page are all a jumble, just like inside my mind. I spill them out and move them ’round, but don’t always see a flow or how they come together to make any kind of sense.

If I don’t get them out, they’ll fill my head with increasing pressure- swelling, stretching, aching and pressing until I finally burst. Better to release a word or two here, a few lines there then puzzle out when and where to place them.
