I’m participating in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month), writing a poem a day for the month of April and posting it here on my blog to share. Go to NaPoWriMo.net for more details and to view many more participating poets. I did not follow prompts, but decided to share some laughs with the world. Each poem this month is silly, goofy, or fun just to bring you a smile and a little joy, which we can all use more of.
Welcome to the Family
I brought her home today
To live with my family
Gave her a bed, some toys
She seems to like it here
She snuggled in and took a nap
I was somewhat proud of that
She seems to like it here
We took a walk
She loved that a lot
She seems to like it here
I let her be, some space to breathe
She seems to like it here
Should have been less cavalier
She ate my pillow, my shoes, the couch
A piece of the floor trim is missing now
She chewed his glasses, T.V. remote
Her stuffed bear is missing it’s nose
A hole in the carpet on the stair
I’m know for a fact, that wasn’t there
Get a puppy, they begged and pled
We’ve got some work for us all ahead
