I’m participating in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month). I’m writing a poem a day for the month of April and posting it here on my blog to share. Go to NaPoWriMo.net for more details and to view many more participating poets.
Rain
Gentle tapping rhythm on the windowsill
Fairies dancing slowly, then the rhythm builds
Notes upon the wind, tree and flower understands
Louder, blowing faster, roars across the land
Sky alight in fireworks flashing
Cymbals crashing, growling clouds
Dancing, tapping frenzy
Those fairies stomp and pound
Rapping on the window now
Drowning out all sound
Eventually they tire
Can’t keep it up too long
Gently tapping, twirling
Wind’s howl but a whisper
A song about the window
A hug around the home
Music of the fairies
Gently tapping on the sill
