Poems to Write Poem

I’m participating in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month), writing a poem a day for the month of April and posting it here on my blog to share. Go to NaPoWriMo.net for more details and to view many more participating poets. I did not follow prompts, but decided to share some laughs with the world. Each poem this month is silly, goofy, or fun just to bring you a smile and a little joy, which we can all use more of.

Poems to Write

Poems to write
If I want to do this right
I took the challenge
I should show up, right?

It’s Napowrimo
It’s not so hard
Thinking up poetry
Each day in this regard

But words don’t always come easy
Or spill out nice and appeasing
Sometimes it’s more like throwing up
A jumbled, garbled, messy lump
Other times there’s nothing at all
A blank, white page
Not a word to scroll

What a great challenge
Mental exercise
If I can get through it
Without breaking my mind
