I’m participating in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month), writing a poem a day for the month of April and posting it here on my blog to share. Go to NaPoWriMo.net for more details and to view many more participating poets. I did not follow prompts, but decided to share some laughs with the world. Each poem this month is silly, goofy, or fun just to bring you a smile and a little joy, which we can all use more of.
The Dandelion
Lovely little dandelion
I’ll keep you evermore
I’ll wrap you in a paper cloth
And put you in a box
I’ll take you out and look at you
Anytime I want
Lovely little dandelion
Full of the joys of spring
Of hope and sun
Days growing long
Promise of summer
Soon to come
Lovely little dandelion
I’ll put you in my pocket
And take you out when I need
The simple smile you can bring
Treasured little locket
Lovely little dandelion
So fluffy and so soft
My own pillow of moss
I’ll keep you evermore
Oh, here’s the breeze
Wait! Dandelion seeds!
Tossed your stem to the floor
