Purposefully Pursue Your Peace
The search for peace, and joy and love is something we all spend
Our lives chasing after, the searching never ends
Angry when it doesn’t come, show up at our door
When we work hard to find these things, then only seek for more
More often, what we worked for and thought would bring us joy
Doesn’t satisfy, not nearly, in the way we did expect
Peace and joy and yes, love, too, are all found within yourself
You can’t control the world around you
Reactions of others or where the day takes you
But can, your own reactions, the focus of your thoughts
The gratitude you put into the world, and love
Purposefully pursue your peace
Intentionally make joy
Create your own happiness, may be unconventional
That’s okay, it’s yours
Be grateful for all good things, even hardship, too
Never know where it might lead, could be the best ever happened to you
Smile at a stranger, help someone in need
Share a bite to eat, listen to their story
Everyone has trouble, no one is to spare
Live your life with purpose, show those you love you care
Step outside your comfort, give a helping hand
The more you give and share and love, the more it is returned
Purposefully pursue your peace
Intentionally make joy
Create your own happiness, by giving it away
