I’m participating in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month). I’m writing a poem a day for the month of April and posting it here on my blog to share. Go to NaPoWriMo.net for more details and to view many more participating poets.

It may be the wrong season, but I dream of fall even in springtime. Spring has it’s beauty, but Autumn has beautiful glories of it’s own and has always been one of my favorite times of year. Thus, this poem came to me.

Autumn

Wind blows waves ‘cross golden grass
Singing through the trees
Leaves sprinkle down, a colorful rain
O’er a brilliantly painted world

Chill in the air, crisp and fresh
Finally gone is Summer’s heat
Autumn’s beauty shines at last
Every direction a visual feast

Green, orange, yellow, gold
Purple, amber and red
Each blade and leaf brilliant and bold
Enjoy, for Winter’s ahead
