I’m participating in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month). I’m writing a poem a day for the month of April and posting it here on my blog to share. Go to NaPoWriMo.net for more details and to view many more participating poets.

Imaginings

In a world only we can see
Come get lost with me
Build a castle made of sand
Climb the tower, oh so grand

With the birds we will fly
Sounds absurd
Come and try
Come and sing with me

All you dream can come true
Ride an elephant to school
Just believe imaginings
Don’t hold back, play and sing

Let us laugh till we ache
Eat the largest of cakes
Nothing yet comes to mind
Too outrages to try

Climb a mountain of sorts
Build the largest of forts
Cross a canyon on wings
Made of paper and string
Anything we can dream
Come and play with me

In a daydream of fun
Together dance in the sun
Put all seriousness aside
They’ve no place on this ride

Sail the seas on a ship
Dive right down, take a dip
Live today just for fun
Come and dance with me
