I’m participating in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month), writing a poem a day for the month of April and posting it here on my blog to share. Go to NaPoWriMo.net for more details and to view many more participating poets. I did not follow prompts, but decided to share some laughs with the world. Each poem this month is silly, goofy, or fun just to bring you a smile and a little joy, which we can all use more of.
Piece of Cake
She asked what I wanted to eat and I said a piece of cake
She asked how I would get that, I said, piece of cake!
Took out some flour and sugar, vanilla, milk and egg
A bit of baking powder, wallah, piece of cake.
Mixed up and put in the oven, left it there to bake
Mmm, I could smell it! Delicious piece of cake!
Almost time to eat it, the smell is just divine
What was that noise, did you hear it?
And is it smokey in here?
Oh! Cake everywhere!
